My ruler in MS Word keeps disappearing

The ruler in the MS word keeps disappearing every now and then. I re-activate it using the view tool bar but the problem recurs every now and then. Any solutions?
 
What Layout are you using? Does it disappear when you insert an object like a table etc. or is it missing everytime you run Winword?
