I have a budget of 90-95k. Looking for a decent 3060 laptop which can run newer AAA games at low-med settings and also has a good display. I've found the Lenovo ideapad to fit my needs the best. It has a 100% srgb screen and 165hz display.
Im looking to buy the laptop in the next few months , do i wait for 40 series laptops to release incase prices drop or get a 40 series laptop

This doesn't have as good display in specs as the IdeaPad mentioned by you but the processor is an upgrade with slight increase in price.

Take a look at this acer Gaming Ryzen 7 Octa Core 6800H - (16 GB/1 TB SSD/Windows 11 Home/6 GB Graphics/NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060) AN515-46 Gaming Laptop on Flipkart

ASUS TUF Gaming A15, 15.6" (39.62 cm) FHD 144Hz, AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX, 6GB RTX 3060, Gaming Laptop (16GB/512GB SSD/90WHrs Battery/Windows 11/Black/2.30 Kg), FA506QM-HN124W https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09Y695S7K

Does the processor matter too much considering I don't do any form of graphic design or anything related to editing? Mostly just for playing games and schoolwork

The processor does matter with mobile devices unlike desktop counterparts where the difference may not be noticeable unless on sustained workload.

In this particular case you could look at comparisons of various models on YouTube. Since this is a laptop purchase ideally the purchase decision should be based on the overall package rather than just the processor.

Good luck!

I've found that the processors coupled with rtx 3060 don't have much of a performance difference especially in my price range. I've looked at r7 6800h , r9 5900hx both having barely 4% performance difference compared to r7 5800h .I think the ideapad would be my best bet for now unless any new information for new 40 series gpus is announced.
