Ok so i have a PIV 1.6 ghz with 512 mb RAM without any dedicated graphics card.. i was thinking of replacing my old 14' CRT with a 19' LCD.. my ques is wil the new monitor work with this config?

Secondly if it works (if it doesn't still :D ), which LCD should i choose? Samsung, Viewsonic, LG etc.. thx in advance!
 
one of my friend could not run his 19" lcd on 1440*990 on a amd 2600 / via chipset

so, most likely yours also wont work

2 options
upgrade ur rig, if u already have plans for it
buy a cheapo card like 7100 for 1K, which will run display at 1440
 
ya u can surely go for a cheap card it will be better if u go for samsung 19" lcd as viewsonic has some rma issues.
believe me samsung is worth the investment..
