Budget 41-50k Laptop for Graphics work

Hello!

Looking for a laptop for Photoshop + Illustrator and a bit of Final Cut work apart from the usual daily stuff.
I'd like to squeeze in a 1080p screen if possible.

What would my options be? I will mostly be adding a SSD + RAM got from the US, so just looking for a the proper connectivity + gfx card.

  • What's your Budget? (e.g. >30K, not more than 50K etc.)
    • -> 40k would be ideal, the rest will be spent on a small SSD + RAM
  • What will be your primary usage for the notebook be?
    • Graphics design (Illustrator + Photoshop) some video editing (Final Cut) and audio editing
  • What size and weight considerations do you have?
    • 15.6" would be ideal.
  • Any brand that you prefer, or any brand that you detest?
    • None right now.
  • Any other considerations?
    • Matt screen if possible!

@dafreaking maybe, but since it's for my sister, warranty would be of importance.

I couldn't find to many HD screens in 15" <50k laptops here. Any that I might have missed?

Neither could I. That's why I asked.

The Lenovo Y500 fits her requirements though out of budget. If It could be sourced from the US it would come close but remember with the crazy dollar rate all things are going to increase in price...

I was infact looking at the y510p for myself, but have been reading quite a few bad things about it recently.

Any options with an AMD card available locally?

So after a little more research, got some candidates

1. HP Pavilion G6 2320TX
i5 3230m + ATI 7670M (DDR3) + 4GB Ram @ ~40K

2. HP Probook 4540s
i53210m + ATI 7470M (DDR5) + 4GB Ram @ ~44k

3. Samsung NP35V5C
i53210m + ATI7670M (DDR3) + 4GB RAM @~42k

4.Lenovo Z500
i53230M + nvidia740m(DDR3) + 4GB RAM @~45k

5. Sony E1513
i5 3230M + ATI 7650M(DDR3) + 4GB RAM @ ~42k

Which would be a better combo considering the requirements? My sister is unhappy with Dell cause she faced serious heating issues with her last Inspiron.

My brother has the Z500. It's sleek, ok to look at and performs fine in normal tasks. I see you weren't able to find a full HD screen in your budget. Also has the best video card out of the ones you have short-listed.

Sony E1513 has much better display than Samsung NP35V5C, though Samsung gives you 2GB ram. But if it's for your sister, doesn't matter.
