Laptops Laptop display is of such bad quality or driver issue?

Hi, i bought lenovo g50-45( a8, 4 gb ram, 500 gb hdd, 2gb graphics). Now i am running win 7 64 bit. The problem is there is banding on display, whole display looks like its running on high color mode(16 bit). Black to grey gradient shows serious banding.
Any of you guys have any experience of this sort of problem or any input on it is appreciated.
Thanks.

Can you show some pictures so that we can understamd what you mean by banding.

I got a Z50-70 recently. The display on my old HCL laptop was miles better.
I need to reduce the contrast on this display(Like we do an a desktop LCD monitor). But don't know how to do it.

Will have to try F.Lux.

I just got a g50-45 too, (the same model that you have) and while the display isn't great, I haven't see any banding yet except on the default gnome wallpaper. I haven't noticed the issue in Windows.

I'm using Windows 7 64 bit & Debian (Jessie).
Yes, there is banding. It's visible in the first and last picture. It's visible in the second picture only when the colours get lighter.
All low end panels are 6 bit TN panels, there's bound to be banding on them.

Hi, I'm new in forum. I bought same Lenovo laptop as you (g50-45) with same poor quality display. Did you find solution for this annoying trouble? Thanks, Krisztian from Hungary

Hi Amit, I hv also bought the G50 before a month, and facing the same issue. Also hv connected to customer care and service center as well. But they couldn't fix the problem. They comes with solution was the OS which is installed in the system its not legal. bty I already tried to resolved the same with win 8.1, win 8 and win7 64bit, but issue remains same. Kindly reply if u got somthing.

Seems more worries in pockets for Lenovo G series. If somebody can shoot some pro email to their regional GM or something it might help in recalling faulty laptops just like we see for automobiles and have the components replaced free!!

I am also Facing the same issue. You can see some of the Metro icon is having bands in my attached screenshot. its been only 2 days I bought this laptop. If this is a long back issue why Lenovo has not resolved it yet. I went and checked the same series laptop in showroom and found the same issue. I think its a problem with this model.

Please help me if any of you has any solution.
