I was just thinking today morning, thank god that the wired internet connection is still working. It tends to stop working once every month. Mobile data while good at my place is no substitute for the wired connection.

For people with bad coverage area, it would be a nightmare and a tremendous withdrawal pain.

You Broadband @ BLR - Working absolutely fine, even after FUP speeds.

Though just bought an ACT connection and waiting for installation.

Local ISP in Mumbai. Working fine daily except once it went down for 10 minutes. Realized that many people in my office do not have wired broadband at home and are at mercy of hotspot to WFH.

WFH since last week using Siti Cable Fiber in Kolkata. No downtime/lag with usual websites. FHD streaming works without issues in Netflix/YT.

However speed is reduced in case I hit US servers like my client VPN. I guess submarine cable bandwidth is chock full.

I do not understand why there should be any problem. After all we were all doing the same thing at office that we are now doing at home. Instead of the office bandwidth we are now using our home bandwidth. Net - net it should be the same amount of bandwidth used. Coming to people who are at home with no work they must be bingeing on OTT but then aren't these videos on local CDNs?

Bit off topic, but the shit here is at office we tend to work for a fixed time say 9-6 but when you are at home you are made to work 24x7 with no excuses or options. As cos. know you cannot go out. They want you to only prioritize work and nothing beyond that.
Some cos. might even pretend as if they are doing a big favor to us giving wfh rather than leaves.
So for me wfh totally sucks. I might soon go on months leaves if they pressurize or force...

Just hope and pray your fiber line doesn't go down.

Mine went down an hour back and I am worried about repair personnel being under lockdown as well.

Excitel. Hyderabad. Zero issues. They've been fantastic, considering the abysmal feedback I had read about them before subscribing.
