Ok... All of this means there are 2 possibilities:
1. There is still some firewall on either PC which is blocking the pings (more likely)
2. There are some settings in the wireless router which are not allowing clients to ping each other (less likely)
Can you mention what wireless router are you using? Also, can you double check the firewall software on the PC's?
Another thing you can try: Try setting up an adhoc network between the 2 PC's without the wireless router.
-Turn off the wireless router.
-Set up an adhoc network between the 2 laptops -> Set up a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network
-Assign the 2 above IP addresses statically to each PC (192.168.2.4 and 5. Subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and default gateway of 192.168.2.1)
-Now try to ping the PC's from one another (.4 to .5 and vice versa)
If the above pings work, then its definitely the router. If they don't, then its definitely the firewall software (or some other setting on the PCs).
