how to know one computer is using internet?

i use a wireless modem to access internet....i use my laptop to access internet wirelessly.....in the other room my brother uses his own laptop to access internet....

how do i know whether he downloads or is accessing internet without his knowledge?

^^ You can login to your wireless router page and see all the devices connected to it. I guess it should be able to give you the data transfer stats too. What wireless router do you have?

I dono if such option exists in all the WiFi routers.. But if you want to block internet access to his laptop then you can do that in the router settings..

You can find it in Wireless -> Wireless MAC Filter

Something like Wireshark which is a free and open-source packet analyzer. www.wireshark.org/

^^ Just login to the router and check the connected devices. AFAIK I have see it in the common netgear/linksys/D-Link routers
