CPU/Mobo How to check if the motherboard supports DDR2/DDR3?

Hi,

I am not much into the hardware stuff, so I am really clueless on whether my motherboard supports the DDR2/DDR3 RAM. My PC is currently running on a Intel 81845GV chipset and has a 256MB DDR SDRAM stick. I wish to upgrade it now. I have been passive member of TE for a while so I hope i would get the solution to my query like others do Any help would be greatly appreciated

U just tell us the name and model number of the mobo, we'll let u know that which ram it'll support.

your current mobo supports neither ddr3 neither ddr2. only ddr1 upto 400 mhz.

There are something mankind is not supposed to know, for everything else there's google . Google out the model number and usually on the first page you get the product link. Check the specs there and you'll know.

It supports DDR ram only.
