How to access home pc ( remote desktop) from office?

hello ppl...

I have a question...

I was trying to connect my home pc which is behind the linksys wrt54g2 router via remote desktop from my office....but could not

so i wanna know how do I bypass the wifi router and connect to my pc at home???

Give your PC a static IP and forward port 3389 on the router and you're good to go. You can also register with DynDNS.org or TZO.com for a dynamic domain name. Makes it simpler than having to keep track of the changing WAN IP.

Also make sure your office proxy allows port 3389 traffic (several do, and will allow only port 80 and 443 traffic)

if it doesn't, port forward 443 (reserved for https) to 3389 on your router and specify port 443 on your RDP client at work

This is the best remote desktop solution , there is a free version.

At the remote side all you need is a browser and install there client on the pc

to be controlled remotely.

You can control your pc , browse your file system , cut copy paste stuff

on ur hdd.

This is one gr8 solution.

I registered with DynDns and setup a host...

but when i try to connect to it..it is connecting me to the DSL router settings and not the pc :(

i mean..i have this setup --

internet <- ZTE dsl router < - Linksys wrt54g2 wifi router <- my pc
