Nice. I had doubts how long we could store data on an ssd compared to mechanical hdd's but this is promising. Just need to refresh the ssd by reading the drive contents every year i guess. Only doubt is how long will the ssd's last? As long as usb pen drives?Does SSD Need the Power to Retain Data? The Answers Are Here!
Do you plan to keep all the backups on an SSD drive? Do you know how long an SSD can hold the data? If not, read the guide to find if SSDs need the power to retain data. While SSDs are fast, they are built differently from HDDs and come with drawbacks, which you should know to avoid any data...www.easeus.com

No issues on lasting as far as they are stored in a good environment, proper packing etc.Nice. I had doubts how long we could store data on an ssd compared to mechanical hdd's but this is promising. Yeah....mine was 2006 80gb hdd and i restarted it just 2 yrs back and bang it was up and still running. No issues on lasting as far as they are stored in a good environment, proper packing etc.
Just firing them up once in 6-12 months for a good 8-10hrs shall be sufficient.
Thats what I have been doing for mechanical hdds since decades now. In fact, in July this year I found 2 hdds in my khazana from 2010 era which were never powered up after storing and forgetting about them. Surprisingly, they are working as if I'm using them daily. No health issues no sounds. Just kept them attached inside my case for 3-4 days (daily use my pc for a good 10-12hrs) so that much suffices. They are back in the godown now!
Wondering what you planning to store for too long without touching them...
