Linux Help installing Python's Tkinter module

Hey,

I have Fedora 12, and I'm installing python 2.6.2 using the .tgz file. By default, the Tkinter module is not installed (for some absurd reason) and you have to make some changes in the files present.

Now I've tried to understand the files, but I failed pathetically, and the result is that I still don't understand how to install Tkinter along with the other modules.
Can someone please help me? It says change either setup.py or Modules/setup (neither of which I was successful in doing).

I've downloaded my tarball from Download Python and it's the 2.6.4 version, 4th option (Python 2.6.4 compressed source tarball).

Please.. I need this really urgently I was making my project on Windows, which crashed and now I really don't want to re-install windows and screw up the bootloader unless it becomes absolutely necessary.. But have to submit this tomorrow... :(
:huh::huh::huh:
