yea there are a lot of possibilities to do speed runs in hl2. 3 hours is rather long in fact.

I saw the video it was more like 12 mins....but still it was fast..really fast..That guy was runing like hell..

The general rule of speed runs is that bugs can be exploited to get a faster run. But no cheats or use of extra command compared to a normal can be used. The 97 minutes run of half life 2 was done without any no-clip. Just exploited a couple of bugs here and there. But if you see the real talent lies in finding a faster way even through bugs.

The best i have managed with contra is beating the third level or the fourth it was in 10 mins ...
