GPS problem on the Galaxy 5

Hi,

I just bought the Samsung galaxy 5. I notice that the GPS hunts for ages and then finally fails to lock on.

The icon blinks for ages and finally gives up without acquiring a position.

Any idea why this happens?

Are you connected to wifi or sthn ? Google maps is ultra quick even inside my house connected to my wifi hotspot. Samsung Galaxy devices are known to have a bit of a problem with GPS. They are expected to get a fix later this month or sthn...

If you are getting the Dish Antenna icon blinking, it means the gps is trying to get a lock in unassisted mode. Go outside and try, it will need an open sky and some battery juice. If you are connected to a data network (Wifi/GPRS/EDGE) it should operate in assisted mode and gps lock will take a couple of seconds.

You will have a sad time getting a GPS fix while indoors. It works perfectly when I'm outdoors.

Have you tried it when you are outside?
