Goa People ..need Help Here - Team Trip.. Need Places to Visit in Goa

Hi Buds,

Me and my team of 8 other people are going to Team trip to Goa on Nov 28th and return on the 2nd.. Wanted to know some nice resorts you have visited under the budget of 3k per day for 9 people .(3 people in 1 room )

Also wanted to know what are the places to see in Goa ? I did check make my trip but i want to you know personal opinions..

Will be staying some where close to Baga Beach or Calangute

Waiting for your suggestions...

There's no real resorts in North Goa AFAIK. For that you'll have to head to South Goa. North Goa for the most part has fairly good hotels with pools. That's what a "resort" in Goa means. Plus at this time of year, the rates are quite high.
I'd suggest putting down the names of the ones you'll have shortlisted. So if there are any with whom members have had a bad experience, they can be shot down.

Btw do you'll have your own transport? If not, definitely get those bikes-for-hire.

As for places to see, there's nothing special really. A trip to Goa is more about hanging out than sight seeing. There's a trip to the fort/lighthouse, a few boating trips - one which takes you to see dolphins (one of the locals said though that they aren't dolphins but a different species), another which takes you to see crocs sun-bathing (again, a local mentioned this but I haven't been on that one, so cannot confirm that you actually get to see crocs) - the church where St. Francis's body has been kept (IINM, it's this year that the body will be on display?) & the like off the top of my head.

& a word of caution. Since you have ladies in your group, try not to leave then unescorted as far as possible. The no. of roadside chappris (romeos) has gone up & I've seen them openly harass ladies, both foreign & Indian, in braod daylight, especially at the congested beaches like Calangute. Not meant to deter you but be on your guard.

Also, if you plan on going clubbing (no 1st hand experience), I've been led to believe that the crowd over at North Goa clubs is pretty bad. People prefer the clubs in South Goa by far. But then you have to decide on the risks of traveling all the way across at night :( (if you're holed up in North Goa, that is)

Take everything with a pinch of salt as I'm not a local. Everything is based off of about 3 trips made with my missus over the last 5-6 years. On the last one, we spent a considerable amount of time in the South. & we've decided that's the place for us. Less congested beaches, much better crowd, much better resorts.

Different people love Goa for different reasons though. I'm not really a party-animal &/or piyakkad type. Nor have I been to Goa in a big group. So YMMV. HTH.

So here's wishing you all a happy & enjoyable trip. Cheers!

^ I also think "South Goa" is good and peaceful than "North goa"
For Indian citizen , any standard ID proof is sufficient (PAN card etc.) , Passport is not required. Bike owners keep these ID proof with them.
One thing I like too add, If interested in so called "Water Sports" or Para ceiling . Rates could be high for current season , there are lot of middle man involved you will have to bargain a lot. same is true for "Dolphin" seeing etc...
All above things are perfectly said.

If you want to party , LPK is the place to be.
full form bata LPK ka ? hows titto's ?

Once you reach the hotels they will arrange the bikes for you.

Rates Activa 250/day , Bike - 300/day , R15 = 400/day Bullet 500/day.

LPK = Love Passion Karma Waterfront

cool man any other places u recommend ? i hardly sleep and i am party clubbing person ;)

Curlies = Anjuna Beach = Shack and has a dance floor. Stays open till 3am. 7/10
LPK = Near Candolim Beach= Dancing and drinking place. Stays open till 4am. One of the best places in Goa.
Titos= Decent place but very over crowded. That titos street has many clubs. Stays open till 5am.

There is a casino boat also. That you need to board from Panjim. Its like 1500 night with food. Now it may be increased.

I am a goan n just luuuuv Goa. Though born n brought up in Bombay.... goa is deep in my veins.
As folks have already shared, South Goa is the place for prinstine beaches, no crowds and beautiful.
You must savour local cusine - be it fish or pork. And for drinks.... well Feni or Uraq !!

If you base yourself at Panjim - Miramar then both North n South Goa is centrally located. Hire bikes and leave early in the morning and always return by another route.
All the best enjoy Goa.

Terry

Me and my friends stayed at Beanulim beach the last time we went there (around a month back). It is nearby Margao, in South Goa. While there aren't many partying places there, it is definitely one of the best places I've been to in Goa. The last two times I went to Goa, I stayed in the North (Baga and Miramar). While it is fun there, it is too much crowded. The next time I'm definitely going to South Goa. The beaches are peaceful there and you can relax all day just lazing around. Good food, drinks, less crowd, the occasional dip in the sea; what more do you need?

I don't know about any of the hotels you've listed, but if your friends have already stayed out there, then it's a safe bet.

Bikes/cars on rent are pretty ubiquitous. You'll spot 'em when you get there. Or it can be arranged through hotel staff as well. (Probably charge you a commission of 50-100 bucks though)

No, people aren't bad. & I think you can safely go out clubbing at night in a group. Goa is generally very safe. Even at night. It's not like a Delhi which is generally pretty notorious in this regard. Just to put things in perspective.
There are certain tourists though that can be a problem. They seem to think that foreigners are of easy virtue just because they wear shorts/skirts/bikinis. They seem to feel the same way about Indians in similar attire. Their idea of fun is to get drunk & misbehave. It's this sort that I was referring to.
I did not mean to say that North Goa is unsafe & South Goa is very safe or anything of the sort. My comment wasn't meant to deter you in any way. It's just that most of the 5 star properties are in the South, so you generally have a better crowd there.

I'll be a bit more specific so you get the proper perspective. Of the 3 trips I've made to Goa, we stayed exclusively in North Goa on the 1st 2. Very enjoyable & saw nothing untoward.
On the 3rd one earlier this year, spent a few days in South & few days in North. On a trip to the Calungute beach sometime in the afternoon, near the "main entrance" to the beach, saw a group boozing. This is right on the street, right outside of the wine store. When a couple of foreign ladies were walking past, one of them jumps right out in front of them & says something. The ladies ignore them & walked past while they jeer.
Five minutes later, a couple of Indian teens barely out of school are walking past. A guy who's loitering about loudly goes "Hey baby!" right to their faces. They ignore & walk past.
& while this chap is behaving this way within hearing range, there are local cabwallahs asking me if I need a ride. I tried looking for a cop or a chowki. There was none. This was the middle of the day & pretty crowded.
Alarm bells rang in my head & we headed to Baga. It's one thing not having any cop/authority around but if the locals don't even bat an eyelid, it probably means this is a regular affair.
Also, my observation was that this misbehavior was directed towards unescorted ladies. Hence my comment. Often, when we are out-&-about in a group, some folks tend to drift apart. That's the situation I was referring to.
Am I reading too much into this? Maybe. Such jerks are everywhere. But then it came as a shock to me because I had been to the same place even at night many times earlier & had neither seen nor heard of any such thing. Plus the fact that it was so brazen.
Maybe since it was off-season, there weren't any cops around , therefore leading to such behaviour. I don't know.

Anyway, in summary, Goa is generally pretty safe & very enjoyable. So North/South wherever, just enjoy the trip & have a blast. You'll are 6 guys, so I'm sure you'll can take care of things. :) . Bon voyage!

PS: Heard a lot about Tito's, never been there. But my wife's office colleagues say avoid the one in North Goa. They have opened a new branch in the South. That's preferred. Reason: "Bad vs Good crowd". Again, no personal experience, just hearsay.

I've been to goa many times but, Palolem beach on the karwar road wins hands down everytime. most beautiful, clean and best beach in every way. I would never want to go anywhere else other than palolem beach.

I stayed near Benaulim but I really loved the one night I spent at Tina cottages on Agonda beach. Southern beaches are bigger and more spread out and hence people feel there's no activity but I really loved them for this. Benaulim, Colva, Agonda and Palolem are the beaches I really liked. Don't go for the Butterfly Island or the Dolphin sighting boat tours. I slept outside on one of the sunbathing cots right next to the ocean on Agonda and it was one of the best experiences albeit the mosquitoes.
There is also a very secluded very small beach by the name of Caba-do-Rama near the Caba-do-Rama fort. You have to trek a few feet down to the beach but it is an absolutely untouched beach. Like every one said North is more hustly-bustly with more popular bars and restos whereas South is for people looking for quiet and who have time on their hands. I was there for a week and went for a swim every morning on the beaches. Perfect start to the day IMO.

I''l be visiting goa in Jan and staying at Romance Coco beach Huts at Agonda, any suggections for sight seeing/activities near Agonda? other than the usual North and South Goa tour by cab, looking for something unique :)

Curlies, Lobo's, Feni. Things you shouldn't miss.

And please, please don't stay sober. Try to be drunk from morning. :D. Thats what we did. :D. And it was fun.
