i have been to this site before it does offer some really good softwares for free.actually the developer can get their softwares advertised through this site.used to give games too but these days very few games are 'given away'.

Already know. You have to install and get the software activated on the same day to see it work.

That's a downside. I didn't know.

On the positive side, though, you still can have licensed softwares and keep them till you reformat/(clean)reinstall the OS.

very old link.. there are many such websites that link to software and other items.

only very few times does that website have anything really useful. most software is available in better form with more features for free. example: sound recorder is already there in audacity. drive copy is already there in acronis home edition.

Nah, you can keep them forever, just need some Regedit action, go to regedit, export the software key, look in Hkey_local _machine(or some other key, just look) and export the branch that has the software name, now after reformat install the software and merge the reg key to registry, tried and tested with TweakRAM.
