Budget 0-20k Gaming PC Upgrade for 20k(Mobo+Proc+RAM)

Hi TE members,
My Motherboard recently been damaged due to a excessive lightning in my area. For this im upgrading my System in two parts. First im gonna replace the Motherboard, Processor & RAM.
Then after 3 - 4 months i will go for the GPU with SMPS if required.

Please help me with your valuable knowledge as im out of sync from this market for quite a time now :)

    • CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 Ghz
    • Motherboard - MSI P35 Neo
    • GPU - XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770
    • RAM - Transcend 1X2GB DDR 2 - 800
    • Monitor - Samsung SyncMaster 2033 (20")
    • SMPS - Gigabyte Superb 550
    • HDD - 1X 1TB WD (SATA) & 1X 500GB Seagate (PATA)
    • Mice - Logitech MX518
  3. Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)
    • GPU - XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770
    • Monitor - Samsung SyncMaster 2033 (20")
    • SMPS - Gigabyte Superb 550 (if only it can support the new hardwares or i will change)
    • HDD - 1X 1TB WD (SATA) & 1X 500GB Seagate (PATA)
    • Mice - Logitech MX518
  4. Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
    • CPU - Intel i5 - 3450/3470/3550/3570 (suggest the best vfm)
    • Motherboard - Gigabyte - B75M - D3H (suggested by a freind)
    • RAM - 1X4gb G.SKILL Ripjaws X 1600 mhz (suggested by a friend)

    • Yes, will upgrade the following after 3 - 4 months
    • GPU - Not yet decided.
    • PSU - If required.
    • RAM - 1X4gb G.SKILL Ripjaws X 1600 mhz

  10. If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?
    • MOBA - League of Legends, War Commander.
    • FPS - Battlefield 3 and future game in mid-high settings
  11. What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage
    1. Gaming - 1600x900
    2. Desktop - 1600x900
  12. Are you looking to overclock?
    • I dont think its possible in this budget. If possible then im open to overclock.
  13. Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
    • Windows 7/8 64 bit
Guys please tell me if my PSU Gigabyte Superb 550W is sufficient for the new hardwares.
Also after buying the GPU this will be my final setup for the next 3 years, so i can add 2-3k more now on the MOBO + CPU if im getting something better which will future proof for 3 years.

Suggest core i5 3470 and b75 gigabyte.
I have this same combo in friends PC. Which we assembled last month.

Works a treat.

No need to change power supply.
Just make sure it is not damaged in that lightening episode.

Ram.

You should have two sticks of same ram.
So you get dual channel bandwidth and better results.

Rest all is okay.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yea my power supply was damaged but i repaired it and its running well now. Yea i will buy the same ram, even i mentioned same ram in the first post for both upgrade.
Also can u tell me if u have any GPU on your friend's pc with this setup and if yes, how its performing for new games ?
 
i have this exact same set up core i5 3470 with b75 gigabyte with 8 gb ram and 5770 running oon corsair gs500.
their is no stutter and fellow is happy with it.
