^^thanks i am also looking at these 2 laptops but as i have mentioned in my post are there any other laptop with this config and without preinstalled windows

also hp one has better gpu than acer timeline one plus it is cheaper also.

also hearing lot of problem with hp dv4-3015tx regarding opengl problem, gpu switching and heating issue any idea if they have been solved.

will i3 be ok for gaming or should i go for i5 only?

so any other alternative laptop with same config without os

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

Asus A53SJ looks very good for price but only downside is poor gpu not good for gaming

so actually if same config is available with 540gt gpu it will be best and ideal laptop for me.

does anyone know of any such laptop from any brand?

Could u post your own experience on build quality and performance ??

Err all I can say is refer to this review for build quality and performance :

Review Acer Aspire 5830TG Notebook - Notebookcheck.net Reviews

Only thing I can update extra is :

Battery Life is superb --- Min 7 hours (on Wifi Browsing) / 5,5 hrs or so on HD video playing on LCD TV via HDMI

Also there are no throttling issues as noted in the review. I got the May 2011 manufactured version which comes with Sanyo battery. The 1st few revisions with Panasonic batteries are know to have just 4~5 hrs battery life and throttling issues as well.

W/O OS the best option is currently the Asus A53SJ but it was out of stock...so had no option at all. But even my Asus X42JY with a 6470 1GB and P6200 CPU gives just 2.5 hrs battery life. So with the core i5 + GT 520m i expect arnd the same or may be even lower :(

That is quite a lot of performance for the buck (5830TG that is).

How is the display ? Notebook-check weren't so impressed about the display in the review i see.

Also how hard is to remove/replace the battery?
