full 2k dpi is definitely handy in games like quake

only if you use high sensitivity

i have used both g5 and the mx518 @ the highest dpi the mx518 is not that pretty to use,I would suggest the g5 if its under ur budget.

lol, G5 is overpriced IMO. Laser technology isn't still mature yet. A 1337 gamer friend of mine bought a g5 and sold his MX to his apprentice. BIG mistake. that guy hasnt won a game since :lol:

if i were you, I'd buy the MX. now that the price is just 1.5k, its irresistible

actually most of the top quake players in world like cooller, toxic, fox etc use a Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1 yes the 800 rupees 400 dpi mouse... and their aiming is absolutely insane.
