^ You are sadly mistaken there - read the article thoroughly - the drive in question there uses longitudinal recording not perpendicular recording.

They are saying in future, perpendicular recording would appear & rightly it has appeared when this article was posted.

Drives with perpendicular recording debuted or were introduced on the day this article was posted. So i hope i have cleared all your doubts.
