Ethernet Driver Issue

Well my ethernet drivers went corrupt according to my vista ultimate one fine day when i switched on the comp..

i tried installing the drivers from the mobo cd in xp compatibility mode but when i update the driver from the device manager it says it has the best drivers available on the system but still shows drivers corrupt..

my mobo is a d101gcc and i am using on board lan card..

does this mean my lan card is kaput??

also if i hav to get a new one which one should i get. how much it will cost n how should i install it...
