PC Peripherals Dual channel DDR query ?

Hi all,
If I put 2 * 512MB RAM sticks in dial channel mode, can I later add 2 * 1GB sticks in the remaining 2 DIMMs to work in dial channel, totaling 3GB ?

C man been meaning to ask this....
AMD has a pretty big performance hit @ 2T why..?

Another point - in single channel the performance hit is much more, whereas in dual channel its much less pronounced and may not be noticed in certain apps..right or wrong?

Many thanks for the replies.... but what is this 2T ? :huh: they will still be running on dual cnannel mode right?
any place where I can get some info on this?
