Storage Solutions Chennai guys: DVD Media needs scanning - can anyone help

Hi,
I want to scan my TDK DVD Media (MIT) - MID - ProdiscS05 and check its quality
I have got LG H42N, so i know i cant do the scan.

Can any of you Chennai folks with scannable writer help me scan these. I can courier the DVD's

^ buddy couriering the media will actually damage it as it wont be in spindles and all , i think u cant scan on the lg DRIVE. look for a frend close by with a dvd drive which can scan . u can do it in nero - tool - cd dvd speed - scan

Errr... Sorry for asking. Do you have access to the drive mentioned here - http://www.techenclave.com/storage-solutions/sony-dru-720a-capable-quality-scanning-107074.html ? If so, go ahead and use it. Scan at 4x using CDSpeed.
 
It can scan alright :) Just make sure you scan at 4x though and post it in the DVD Scans thread as soon as possible.

sure, will do it :)
what about scanning at 8X. i normally burn my DVDs at this speed

btw, its a 16x disc
 
Another option is doing a TRT (Transfer Rate Test) on your LG.

If the graph is smooth throughout - no sudden drops - you have a reliable disc.
