Is it necessary ? i find the regular background rhythm of a fan helps me sleep better like falling rain or rolling waves on a beach. No beach where i am so that's out.

That is a fan that does not have any parts lose in it. did a sound measurement about 3 feet below the fan and it said 50 decibels. That is at its slowest speed setting.

@john maybe you could have considered a tower fan. It is silent and sweep and air throw is very good.

khetan and i am using orient psp from last 28 years and no issue only capacitor issue came 5 to 8 time or more still running nice.

Oster is one brand which is good and has an air throw of 20ft with 90 degree swing. Comes with remote and the price range starts from Rs.3500
