For the processor 4000+ is a very good choice though i would personally go for this - X2 3800+

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103562 - 325$

The mobo choice is ok though get some better ram if you intend on oc'ing.

For the video card the 7800gt though a good choice but has a larger hit when AA and AF is enabled. I'd personally prefer a x1800xl over the 7800gt with Avivo. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814131313 - 339$ after rebate.

You can check benchies with latest drivers here http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/games-2005.html

For the dvd writer get the benq 1640 or sony dru810

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827131261

Rest of the stuff looks fine.

^^ Dude, Blady, Corsair Value Select rocks for overclocking :eek:hyeah: Just look at my DDR2 already up by 66 Mhz. Will push it further up with my Proccy, after i get a new PSU.

Back to the topic.

Really good choices i should say.

Just get the BenQ DW1640 for a DVD-RW.

7800GT is also a nice choice, spare a few more and go for the GTX?

Hmmph...

Motherboard perfect too :eek:hyeah:

Good choices overall. Good luck with you machine m8 :eek:hyeah:

question:

what is my interface for my disk drives, IDE ? for the life of me, i can't find it.

i saw 1384 as an option for DVD drives, but i only have one of those
IEEE 1394 1x 1394
also, for my gfx card, i can't afford the GTX, and i'm going to SLI later, so i think i'll stay with the GT

but has a larger hit when AA and AF is enabled.

...wha?
also as for the DVD writer, i can't find those on NewEgg other than the 1 you linked me, which is white, and my case is black... ARGH
new ram : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227031
i don't really see the difference though other than the copper head spreaders

ty for the help
