^^^ or rather buy 760g ( 780l ) chipset based Asus/Gigabyte mobo to scale HT bus frequency to MAX ... although HT bus won't incresesystem performance to that certain viewable level ... but it still does provide some Free CocoNutties ... ( for sabuut > see madshrimps article comparing AMD cpu frequency scaling ) and these 760g nothermoards costs 2650/- approx...
rest all is nice as in above post..

Thanks Darky

give a config for a budget of 26k also....

He is Considering 2 option....One of 19k and other of 26k...They want to spend once no upgrades....

@ darkangel Now its time to stop recommending 740G mobo we should at least recommend a 760G 'cause there is only diffence of ~300 and 760G packs HT2.0,2.0 Pcie x16,SB 710,Better IGP.

so pick any ASUS M4A78LT-M LE/ASUS M4A78LT-M/GIGABYTE GA-MA78LMT-S2 and rest of config suggested above.

That was to keep budget down and since OP was going for a GPU the HT and IGP doesnt matter much. Yeah if he can afford a bit more then 760G is a good choice as you have mentioned.

i am not recommend it 'cause of performance HT or anything. The main reason is SB710 and 2.0 16x pcie. Some of the hd5770 cards have issue with pcie 1.0 so a board with 2.0 pcie newer chipset offers better compatibility.~300 difference doesn't make big difference and 740g is ancient 690g refresh.

So darky we should now start recommending 760G as a budget board and if u like make this change to ur "PC buying advice" thread.

In the PC thread the only 740G is for the most basic rig(13.5k) Rest all are 760G, 785G and 880G
