Audio Asus xonar DG vs creative sound blaster vx?

I am using the creative sound blaster vx on my system connected to creative inspire 4.1 M4500 speakers.
If i was to replace my creative sound card with asus xonar DG sound card will i see any improvement in the sound output.
I mean does this warrant to be an upgrade for the speakers or is it an overkill?

What do you need to change is your speakers first and then you can get better sound card like Asus Xonar DX, else keep your present set-up as it is

I find only Altec lansing speakers worthy at 3K price. I am not an audiophile anyways.

I am just measuring my options.
Mom dad get irked by the hanging wires of my 4.1 so wanted to know if a 2.1 can give Me better output than my current setup.
