A new app called InSight developed for Google Glass will let you recognize people based on the clothes they are wearing.

Face recognition doesn't work well when you have to recognize someone in a crowd. A new technology solves the problem by using clothes to recognize the person.

The InSight app for Google Glass is developed by Duke University and partly funded by Google. It is designed to help people find their friends and get spotted even in crowded places like shopping malls or busy streets.

The technology works based on "fashion footprint" which is based on the clothes, jewellery, badges and glasses the person is wearing.

The fingerprint is created by a smartphone app that takes series of pictures of a person and develops a pattern which will be used for recognition, like horizontal or vertical stripes, color etc , this is stored in a file called spatiogram.

The system is quite accurate, in early tests using 15 volunteers, the team identified people 93 per cent of the time, even when they had their backs to the headset user.
