Hi
How are you all doing, I am sure all are great..
Right so an acquaintance of mine was asking about his wife...
She is a science graduate and hasn't been doing a job since many years and doesn't have any background in IT.
They are thinking for her to join a work from home kind of job at a lower level in IT.

Are there any online courses available which she can opt for so that she can enter the field...?

Please suggest the stream and which course, from where she should look for.

With my utterly limited knowledge I suggested her to do a DIGITAL MARKETING course, either free via youtube or may be some online diploma and then apply for a wfh kind of job if any she can get.

Clearly my knowledge is next to nil as far as the scenario of IT goes.. Their requirement is work from home so that she can also fulfill other responsibilities...

Thanks in advance guys.

Social Media Marketing is very broad and finding WFH job title is very hard now a days for such position.
you can try with : https://www.udemy.com/course/digital-marketing-masterclass/
buy the above course when its below 1k.
also check out linkedIn learning courses as well.

Free learning is also good but everything is scattered all around the place.

Thanks
I ll suggest him...
What other fields in the IT, the courses of which are available.
Please share more
Regards

Udemy for shorter courses.

Coursera for longer but offers good specialization. You can get a degree from a prestigious uni from abroad.

Udemy courses cost near 500 INR if you time it right. Coursera is free if certification isn't needed.

Neither is better than the other. Both are catering different types of courses. But both of them offer 100x better quality than whatever crap is available domestically.

either free via youtube
I'd not suggest youtube to beginners. Youtube is for the advanced folks who exactly know what they are looking for.

You can however, use youtube to find out what are domains in IT. Choose one and take a basic course on that from udemy and see how it treats her. Some Udemy are available on torrents too.

I guess i didn't mention, but if courses are paid as well, they might pursue, but again depends on their budget and I haven't discussed that with them specifically..

You can apply to https://www.coursera.org/ for financial aid and they almost always accept it and it's free with a certificate.
https://www.edx.org/ also has many courses and financial aid is available for a 90% discount.

Below are Harvard and MIT courses from youtube.

Which are the courses then that one should try and opt for.may be the ones that are in demand now.
Which courses are easy to do and they are practically evergreen and one can get a decent wfh job easily after doing.

Personally I would suggest (if you specialists agree) to opt for a course which is decent in terms of difficulty and isn't lengthy for starters and through which one can get a wfh job... Plus the course which one can periodically keep upgrading every year or two years to get better pay and opportunities....

It really depends on which type of company she is joining, most office work do Microsoft and Excel so, there's not much needed there except youtube.

I recommend this course. Apply for financial aid and you will get it for free after 1-2 weeks with a certificate after you completed.

I have shared all these details with my acquaintance, let's see if they ll be able to zero in on something.
Many thanks to all the guys once again...
If anyone thinks they have something to add please feel free.. I would be grateful.
