Any MIUI users?

Hello guys,

I recently discovered this custom ROM for Android and it's running very nicely on my Galaxy S. I was wondering if there were any others using it. If so, please post your experiences.

For those not in the know, MIUI is based on Cyanogenmod 7 and comes with a UI that is quite similar to iOS. One of the biggest gripes I had with Android in general was ugly looking UIs (except if you had an HTC phone running Sense.). MIUI fixes this quite nicely.

Coming from Samsung's stock ROM, I can see a substantial speed increase. Scrolling seems a lot smoother even in large contact lists. I'd highly recommend trying out MIUI.

Oh MIUI......

Using it for past 3 months on my defy.

Way better than Custom ROM with lot of room for customization.:(

For me Android means its MIUI.

Getting a photon 4G from US.sadly it is not having MIUI rom :(:(

Just love the monitor, launcher, music player(best in android with lyrics support),contacts ,dialer, downloader

What kernels would you suggest for MIUI on a Galaxy S? I tried Glitch but it made my phone a little slower and not as smooth. Went back to CF-Root which from what I hear is very close to Samsung stock kernel.

absolutely love MIUI on my SGS2

here are the screenshots of my current theme

By far, the best of the custom ROMs. Works like a charm on my Nexus S, and I wouldn't trade it for anything! Well, anything except ICS, that is :D

Which English translation are you guys using? I tried the one from miui.us first but I found the ROM from miuiandroid.com to be slightly quicker. Anyone tried the Galnet ROMs?

Here are my screenshots btw. Default theme with only the font changed from crappy Arial to a much nicer Helvetica.

1. Homescreen
2. Lockscreen (Pull down on the left side and you get the dialer, pull down on right and you get messages)
3. Lockscreen with music player
4. Music player
5. Contacts
6. Dialer
7. Messages
7. Text input
8. Shut down options

English is built in, i didnt have to download any translation pack,

Galnet rom is a cooked MIUI, and i would prefer the official MIUI from MIUIandroid.com anyday,

and by the way MIUI Officially released for the SGSII

Well what you call "official" from miuiandroid is still a translation like the ones from miui.us, just by different people. Both of these are very close to the original Chinese MIUI ROMS. Galnet supposedly has some extra stuff like optimization.

Agreed, but Pure MIUI is bliss, have always had issues with Galnet, i dont download from miui.us matter of personal preference really,

What were these issues? and what kernel are you using?

edit: Does the music player download lyrics automatically? I still haven't loaded much music into my phone yet.

FCs with Market (Frequently) , Email (frequently) , acore (intermittantly) , browser (intermittantly), phone would freeze occassionally while unlocking,

was using base kernel which came with the rom

Hmm. I'm not really sure what kernel I'm using. I followed a flashing guide which made me install CF-Root to get root on my Samsung ROM and then installed MIUIandroid ROM over it. Any idea if it replaces the kernel?
