I'm using Rs 10/Day (100MB Free) MobileOffice plan. No recharge required. Serves me well.(Dial *567*12# to activate). Not sure if its available in you region. There is an other monthly plan with 2GB limit which requires recharge of Rs 98/- (Not sure).
Me too using Airtel RC98.
If I download from DDL sites using IDM I get speeds around 20-30KB/s but for torrents, the speeds are pathetic, around 8-12KB/s
Other people who are using RC98, which port are you using in uTorrent ?

Using docomo, it rocks, there are network issues, but compared to airtel, its awesome..
Wait 2days before activating gprs..
Best thing, do gprs recharge, and wen ur over with the limit do another recharge
Try the 15rs plan to test speed for 3days..

*123*10# was the code for Airtel GPRS balance when i was using the 98 plan.. But that was in Hyderabad.. May be the code for the same in Mumbai wud be diff.. Try out some diff no: in place of 10.. The better thing is to call up the customer service..
Update: The Airtel 98rs GPRS pack works on roaming also.. I've just tried out, the amount is deducted from the GPRS acc only (not from the main balance) even when iam using the sim in kerala.

Actually its in MB only, dnt knw why they used this INR in that.. I've used around 330MB & the acc is deducted by around 330rs..
Is there any good GPRS plan for post-paid airtel connections? I have the zero rental plan right now where i have to pay 30 paisa per 50kb.. that 98rs/2GB packages looks cool but i guess i cant use it with post paid.
^^ I had airtel postpaid but since i wanted the 2GB plan i converted my airtel postpaid to prepaid since that plan was not available in postpaid.
But yesterday i got call from customer care of airtel asking me why i made my card prepaid and when i told because of GPRS plans, he told that the 2GB cap one is also available in postpaid :S

hey just be alert and keep checking your account for remaining balance , i was using airtel 98 since past 3 months and this month i changed to Rs45 -100 mb free plan , yesterday in afternoon i had 96 mb free and by night it went to 0.0mb , i called and they said i used it , well and good but again i recharged and it got vanished in night ,even my balance is gone it was Rs180 and now its 0 , i complained to them and they saying i downloaded games through airtellive thing which is all wrong data , i dont know if some1 hacked in my sim thing or its fault at airtel , just always check your remaining mb free and compare with your logs.raksrules said:

Atleast in your region it says MB, whenever I type *123*10#, it says "Your dedicated SMS account balance is xxxx INR".
At first I did not understand what it meant but after I started using GPRS, I saw that the data transfer amount in MB was being deducted from that balance.
1 INR = 1MB
