CPU/Mobo 5.1 audio output from pc ?

I have intel core2duo 2.8 Ghz 4 gb ram w-7 recently added asus 1 gb graphic card for HD movies, pc is connected to av receiver but output is 2 channel only even though movie has 5.1 dolby digital audio the same when played through blu ray disc player av receiver detects it but not through pc what to do do i need to add any hardware/software

Download Media Player Classic Home Cinema. Setup Lav Audio Decoder (inbuilt into it) to Bitstream all formats from the settings box. Job done!

Play whatever movie with DD/DTS/Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD sound track and it'll be bitstreamed to your receiver.

i have downloaded MPC-HC.1.7.9.x64 but its not working i had set lav audio decoder but still its not working
