3G Modem Advice

I am looking to buy a 3G modem but the amount of options are simply outstanding. I am rather confused which one to look for?
What does unlocked stand for?
When they say voice call support - what does that mean?

Any help here guys
 
unlocked means you can use any operator sim card (cellphone operators sell modems which are locked to their network)
voice call means you can make and receive calls with their provided software
