BXR1121 is discontinued / NA anywhere now.

only if you can get old stock.

currently Logitech X-210 is the best on paper imo... 1499 @ croma and 1350-1400 at local retailers.

much much better than creative A series and altec lancing 1221 (both are uber crap)

logitech X210 is a great vfm 2.1

pros:

* better rms power output for the price

* good sound quality for its price.

* neodymium speaker driver on satellite, same as on the X540 5.1 which is considered as one of the best for 5k.

* looks sexy.

cons

* no wired remote

* bass control on woofer's rear only.

* no headphone jack and no separate treble control.

^^there is a headphone jack on the wired volume controller. But the funny thing is that, after you plug-in your headphones, the volume controller wont work, we will have to control the volume from the system tray!!

thanks a lot for all your replies pals
so i have come up this 2 models
Logitech X-210
Altec BXR1121

both coming in the same price tag i guess
so which one is the best among this two???
the design of Altec BXR1121 doesn't seem to b so good, but i can compromise looks over performance... so if i could find a piece of BXR1121 in the marker should i pick it up or i should go with Logitech X-210...
and what would be the price of Altec BXR1121 now???

@Madnav i guess you are also suggesting Logitech X-210 but u have misspelt it as Logitech z-210... is there any Logitech z-210 around???

BXR1121 is good, but not in stock anywhere now. Get X-210, I think it's 50W RMS. Higher that anything in its range.

@dOm1naTOr

doesn't it have a volume controller in it...

then what does "no wired remote" mean???

and also in one review i read we cannot turn the bass down and there is no bass controller in Logitech X-210... is it true???

OOPs....
just checked logitech site.
The X 210 has been redesigned, and is whole new :D
wow
now it has a control pod with volume control, headphone jack and power button.
and no word about the bass control on new design too.

anyway, bass is punchy enough.

I have been using 2.1 Logitech speakers in hone and 2.1 Creative in office.

What I found is Logitech is best for music and Creative is best for movies.

corrected now :)
yes i meant X-210
go to croma and get a live demo just incase you want to try them out.
but beware!! they put the whole system on metal racks and the base is going to make them vibrate very badly..which may lead one to think that the base is screwed.. :)
if possible, request them to put the base unit on the floor for demo.

From my observation:

Music and movies : Altec Lansing 2.1

Downright gaming(and the need for a punchy bass): Logitech 2.1

For everything else....there's the Creative 2.1

I have the Creative Inspire M2600 and it's pretty decent (balanced performance)

what about games dude...
how does Logitech perform while gaming...

Logitech's sound is more bright but if you need a punch (Bass) in your games, creative is a better option. I have heard Altec-lansing also and they are also good for punch.
