18 HDDs shootout... literaly, with .50 caliber bullet!

I remember watching something similar on some television show(on NGC/discovery) where they shoot through gadgets like ipod,cell phones,etc.Can anyone recall that?
 
the way prices are going down and new hdds coming in, they are now thinking of putting the old hdds to some good use. you can now have cheaper bullet-proof jackets. just keep a few hdds in your pockets and your good to go. :p

hmmm, that would make people to go for more number of platters. :p

I take it that you didn't click the link and see the video.

The .50 caliber API went clean through 16 HDDs and stopped at 17th HDD sticking in it halfway, killing that drive. Only 18th drive survived. So unless you're looking at jacket made of 18 HDDs used in plates.. well... :bleh:
