Rate the Last Movie You Saw...

Spotlight - 8.3/10
Absolute treat! Was expecting a lot when I learnt that Mark Ruffalo was in there, and the movie never disappointed.
It is much along the lines of 12 Angry Men.. after watching it once, you can pick from any scene, and will be compelled to watch it till the end.

The attention to details really made the movie shine. Perfect movie to watch while enjoying your fav cuisine.

Nightmare Alley - 8.2/10
A black and white noir with Tyron Powers in it.. Enuff said!

Sairat - 8/10
Something spl. The regional cinema scenario is much better than the mainstream BS we get served.
The direction is pretty good, and the scenes stay with you.

The Nice Guys - 6/10
Disappointed. Had its moments, chemistry was good, but the overall potential was wasted.

Black Dynamite - 7/10
The saving grace after watching TNG. A spoof movie based on blaxploitation genre, but peppered with some clever references throughout. One time watch.

Rustom..
They had an exceptional plot in their hands, but instead littered it with stupidity... a great job by the director to make a mockery of India's courts. Maybe that is what the truth is. All the jokes and tomfoolery is shown in-court. Not outside.

Was reading an article about online piracy while traveling in the metro, and saw a young couple glued to the movie on a mobile phone. The court room scene looked badly enacted even without any sound, and from 3 ft away itself! :p

For me it was the music that steal the show.

Oh def! The music was abs fantastic.
Even to my non Marathi ears, the numbers really sounded rich.

First Indian Film to record music at Sony Symphony Studio at Los Angeles, United States with more than 60 musicians.

For "Yed Lagla", Ajay-Atul recorded symphonies with an orchestra of 66 musicians as 45 string section, 6 piece woodwinds, 13 piece of brass including 6 piece of horn section and 1 harp in Sony Scoring Stage,Hollywood. It was conducted by the renowned Mark Graham, with an emphatic stress on the arrangement of instruments like cello, violin, harp, horns and brass.

Was a pleasant thing to find that the bearded commentator of the match was the director of the movie as well!

watched happy bhag jaayegi - 6/10 definitely one time watch in theaters. The comedy is good which is safe for the whole family. Grand masti nmakers should learn a thing or two from them. Jimmy shergil should ask is agent to get him movies in which he actually gets the girl for once!!!

Regional
Sairat (Marathi) : 8/10,
Superb movie, so genuine and down to earth characters, such a gripping tale. The female lead has given most amazing performance; must watch..

Rangi taranga (Kannada) : 8/10
The best thriller, I've seen recently - its a deadly cocktail revolving around a psycho killer, village ghost, permanent memory loss & sand smuggling. Scenic beauty of South Canara is well captured.

Mohenjodaro : 3/10, its a complete disaster, typical masala story set conveniently in 2016 BC! Even if you leave historic inaccuracies, it has a pathetic storyline and worst VFX. Only Hrithik performance and Rahman score is enjoyable to some extent.

Larry Crowne (2011)-7.5/10 - pretty good , of course tom has done better movies but it has a postive vibe to it. Julia roberts under utilized though

She's Funny That Way (2014)-8/10-loved it!!brilliant charachters-beautifully etched, some really really funny moments. A great take on the comedy of errors plot.

Playing for Keeps (2012 film)-0/10- shockingly pathetic, a lot of top talent just wasted. Just cant believe how they agreed to be part of this

Neighbors 2 : 6/10
Nothing special, tp movie just like the first one.

Now You See Me 2: lolwut/10
First one was filled with bollywood level implausible bullshittery too but this one kinda went full retard, no Isla Fisher as eye candy either.

saw flying jatt , 6.5/10 . Entertaining in some parts for sure. Surely makes most sikhs feel good watching it. You will remember the few sequences from xmen and man of steel while watching it.

Saw Jungle book- 7.5/10 - Although i don't remember the cartoons from childhood but i did remember a few characters. Watchable once.[DOUBLEPOST=1472411759][/DOUBLEPOST]Saw into the forest - 6/10. Started off well but felt directionless.

Jason Bourne - Meh/10

Its the same old same old with more ridiculousness and not even one hand to hand combat sequence with the big baddie. Matt Damon looks tired and jaded.
All being said, this summer season for Hollywood movie was been a big letdown.

Austenworld - 8/10. Great watch, if you have read the books. Nice story, excellent character development, and well pictured. Oh ya, wow: sound track. Specially "Bette Davis Eyes". Just loved it.

I had wasted my time watching these

Blood Father : 3/10 : watch it for Mel Gibson. disappointed.
Money Monster : 3/10 : Clooney and Julia Roberts - damn another disappointment. :(
Ice Age : Collision Course : 1/10 : I somehow 'liked' Ice Age till the dawn of the dinosaurs, but the last two are pathetic. This one I couldn't even complete watching.
