Heavy Rain - Discussion Thread

Guys how this title.some say it has some awkward controls.
The title is very engaging. Controls are awkward for beginners. Try the demo, it allows you to get a basic feel of the game. If you haven't played Fahrenheit, then you might need sometime to get used to the control pattern. Quantic Dream always ensures a good storyline, while these QTE's being a part of the whole "interactive" nature of the game.

I played it on the PS2, so controls were pretty OK. Same goes for the Heavy Rain. I can't believe you actually have to hold down R2 to move forward. If that wasn't ridiculous enough, there is a sequence where you'll probably need to an additional pair of hands just to complete a quick time sequence, which involves pressing (and holding) almost a 4-5 different combination to progress. That was absurd. Apart from that, It was fairly simple and straight forward.

Was Fahrenheit good? Like Heavy Rain? I have a PS2 and surprisingly the game also with me. Should i play it side by side with witcher 2?

Fahrenheit was awesome. It was such an atmospheric game. If you have a PS2, then by all means go for it. Side-by-side with Witcher 2, not a good idea. I suggest preserving this for some other time.

The first half of Fahrenheit was so awesome even kinda better than Heavy Rain, but the second half was a total let down, they had no idea on how to progress the story.

^^yeah correct.

fahrenheit is an atmosphearic game.Just crank up the volume and play slowly.First half is quite interesting if you are paying attention to the story. In the later half it almost looses its track and makes a little sense.

But if you guys want some more chilling atmosphearic game with a mindfck kind of story then play cryostasis.Story is a bit complex it will haunt you even after you complete the game. Its more of a psychological type of game.

BTW holding R2 seems really lame.

I liked, nay, I loved Fahrenheit for what it offered. It's true the latter half sort of leaned a lot towards the supernatural element, but it was still pretty engaging. Had lots of memorable moments. I still remember the chills I got while playing Carla's claustrophobic moments and Isaac's Matrix style fight on the roof top.

As far as Cryostasis goes, had completed it the day it released. Another fantastic game.

Get the Heavy Rain demo Ankur or watch some videos. Google for "The Butterfly Trial" and you'll know how insane the controls are for that part.

Did you browse the entire PSN Store? It sucks if they have removed it. The demo gave you access to 2 characters levels; Shelby and Jayden. Jayden's was kind of boring with just the routine investigation of a crime scene. While Shelby's had a good action sequence, combined with a conversation with one of the Origami Killer's victim's mother. Have you finished your other PS3 titles?

Nope i was just curious about this title.Actually i was thinking should i try it or uc3 after completing those.

Some people have liked the title and some hated it.Therefore if it dosent appeal to me i even wont try it.

I've played the game like a demo so far - about only 2 hours. The game is very good, but controls are INDEED terrible, but if you have a move controller you won't have an issue

In that case, I suppose there is no harm in pushing it aside for now. You could probably invest in a use copy later on.
