I'm upgrading finally!!

Need suggestions. I'll be upgrading only in 2 weeks or so. Not right away. It might get delayed even more.

Part -I

Looking for pretty much the best things available now but with cost in mind.

Is the 8500 worth it? Over the 8400 i.e

Which mobo (this is the killer question)?

I want a good performing mobo with even better oc'ing capabilities.

What about RAM?

Will post GPU question in appropriate section. Dont want to get the mods involved here.

Most importantly, which PSU for all this?

Say 30k for all this. Prefer it to be lesser.

I dont need HDD, Mouse, Optical Drive, Soundcard, etc....

Part - II

Which GPU for me?

I am upgrading from a phoenix like 6800GT.

Want something which will be somewhat future proof for the next 2-3 years. Something like how the 6800GT was in 2004/2005.

I really have no idea about the GPUs available in the market now. 9xxx , ATI HD38xx or 48xx whatever. No idea whatsoever.

Want the best performing one for around 15k or so.

Is it worth getting one imported from newegg?
Part - III

I also need a new monitor for my new system.

I would like one with Full HD capabilities. what is the cheapest one I could get? I really have no clue abt this. I am completely flying blind.

I have heard about the Dell 2007 WFP, 2407, etc... How good are they? What are the approximate prices?

Better stick with E8400 costs: 8.5K
ABIT-IP35E MOBO(OCs well) : 5K
CorsairDDR 2 X 1GB RAM : 3K
And for PSU get corsair 450W : 3.5K or
CM 600W for 3K :hap2:

your best bet will be the powercolor HD3850 agp :)

2GB * 1 800Mhz = 2.3k

Cooler Master Extreme 600W = 3.2k

EVGA 8800GT KO edition : 11.4K

Many variations can be made to get it under 30k

dont think the e8xxx series is worth the extra 2-3k
 
I think if the 4850 is anything to go by, will be good VFM. Get a crossfire enabled mobo, as multi gpu environment is improving significantly..
 
I'd suggest you get a Quad. Q9550 or something. There's lot of talk of this new multiple core engines coming out and its fun to play Crysis on two cores and encode x264 on another and rip a CD to FLAC on another ;)

You might not wanna go the hackintosh way, but Google "Apple Grand Central" ;)

How much will the quad thingy cost?

No Apple stuff for me though.

What about a Crossfire mobo?
 
The 280GTX is actually the successor of the 9800 right?

And the ATI equivalent of the 280 is the 4870X2? or the 4870 itself?

@Stalker --- Cost?

How will the 4850 compare with other cards? I know you cant tell me exactly, but is it expected to be better than the 3870? What about the 3870X2, 8800GTX/Ultra stuff?
 
If it's too expensive, not worht it. I thought it will be nice to have that feature and add another card later.

I am not too particular on that anyway. I think it might make more sense to just replace the GPU.

How much is the Q9550 in India?
 
+1 apollyon suggestion, E8400 price isnt justified @ 8.4k, it should be E7200 or Q6600 choice for U.

Single 4850 190$ for now, 11k approx via KMD

Geil/Mushkin 2X1GB 800MHz 4-4-4-12 50$ approx, 2.8k approx via KMD
