Can some one please throw some light on how it works would appreciate that.

Thanks...

Thanks for the reply overclocked.. but that model doesn't work as a adsl modem right ? since i have a mtnl triband line, i guess i will need one with adsl modem.
how's this one ? Asus RT-N16
how do i find out if my laptop will work with the "n" thing ? i know it supports wifi since it has a small wifi button at the bottom :)

You can use the default supplied adsl modem and connect it to the n13. It
will suffice.

yes thats certainly possible but that would mean provide another power source and add up to the electricity bill right ?

can we use ASUS WL-520gU for scheduled downloads from hotfile, rapidshare etc using premium accounts?

will it work ?

@OP: There currently aren't any modem+router units that currently allow this feature. At least, none that I know of. Your best bet would be a modem along with a router that supports downloading torrents. It's not that big a deal from an electricity bill point of view. Beats leaving the PC on just for torrents!

Yes, even basic wireless routers support isp connections but if your have a adsl connection like mtnl/bsnl
then more specialised routers are required like the adsl + wireless router. Make sure your device i.e pc/laptop supports wireless internet or else you wud have to buy a wireless adapter of something.

For using LAN based ISP like Alliance..you have to ask the provider to disable Log in for you..they can bind your user name to IP and MAC address..I had it done, but not for Alliance..some other ISP..

This router runs linux.
Here is the source
GPL Open Source Code for Programmers
Confirm that it supports your 3G dongle.
Getting transmission torrent client should now be too difficult, I presume.

It should be possible to connect a portable hard drive
and the 3G dongle together using a USB hub.

Looks similar to the Linksys WAG320N which I have. Can't seem to find anything about running Transmission or any other torrent client on it. Did you find anything about that??

Mfcker told that they don't support any kind of Router.....

Guys sorry to bring this out all of a sudden again but wudn't it be better to get a basic adsl + wireless router + hd media player instead of models like ASUS WL-520gU and Netgear DGN 2200.

Netgear DGN 2200 = 6k to 7k approx

Play on HD media player = 9k approx

please advise...

Still confused with weather to go for a all in 1 device
( adsl modem+wireless router+nas ) this wud save space as well as power point

or

( wireless router+nas since I already have the wired default mtnl adsl modem/router )

I just checked and confirmed that the model N300 WIRELESS ADSL +2 MODEM ROUTER DGN2200 does not have any torrent client readers so currently you can just share the data on the usb drive and use it as a network drive only need to wait for the updated version
