PC Peripherals Which graphic card for 5k

A friend of mine is looking to buy a *new* graphics card.

PCI-E, for around 5-5.5 k

Which card do you think is the best deal in this budget..

I Guess In That Budget 6600 Non GT will be the Best Buy ! Or Better U can get a second Hand 6600GT !:)
BTW Techboy is selling His 6600GT for 5k ! But Trust Him at ur Own Risk !

Any recommendations for an ATi card?

Also my friend was talking about the nVidia 7300 card.

It has 256 mb on board, DDR 2 (not sure) and will cost him 5.2 k.

More thoughts on this are most welcome. :)
 
7300 is better then 6600 non GT , but 6600GT still beats it By a Fair Margin ! so if u do not Mind second hand card then I guess u should go with 6600GT ! :)
 
^^waah :S Bluff what are you smoking. 7300 GS is 64 bit only and a 6600 vanilla which is 128 bit will beat it. That price is bad though, the 7300 GS should be closer to 4k. Go for a 6600 vanilla 128 or 256 MB. A comparable ATI card would be the X1300 PRO . around the same price, 5-5.5k.
 
I am sorry ! My Bad ! But thelord did'nt specify which card he is getting ! I assumed it to be 7300GT which can Kick 6600 non GT's ass !

Core 400MHz
Mem 350MHz/700MHz DDR2
256MB

Plz Clarify M8 ! Coz if its a 7300GT then it will beat 6600 non GT but still it can't beat 6600GT, But if its the 7300GS then no point getting Dat ! :)
 
7300 GS is crap. Its either the x1300 pro or the 7300GT which you should be getting. Both should be priced around 5k.
 
7300GS or GT are both not adequte in my opinion

I would say get a second hand 6600GT and use it till it lasts...

Check DarkNights 6800 pure 256 MB

Its a good card and maybe you can try and buy it for around 7,500 or so....

And yea, he is interested in buying a new card only. That sides out quite a lot of deals here..

So, its the 7300 GT or 6600 vanilla then?
 
LE is described as toned down version..limited edition...but I would rather call it losers edition...and when its 6600LE its very average card
 
7300 GT still isnt available here and 7300 GS is not worth it at its current price. the 6600 LE is not too good, dont go for it. X1300 pro or 6600 vanilla are the best choices.
