Could be something with the drivers. But anyways why do you want 75Hz for an LCD? Ideally LCD's should run at 60Hz, there is no difference unlike CRT's.

are you using an LCD?

refresh rates do not exist for LCD's in the same context as they did for CRT's.

If its an LCD, run it at 60 Hz.. you wont face any issues whatsoever.

Almost all LCD displays operate at 60 Hz naively. There will be some new ones at 120 Hz coming but I highly doubt that is what you have. Deviating from your native frequency will do some odd things to what you see on the screen. Set it to 60 Hz and this issue should just go away.

I was facing this issue with my radeon as well... on a viewsonic 17 incher...

you can try this:-

- Update your drivers and Catalyst control center... (I think v8.10's the latest)

- Open CCC (Catalyst Control Center) in advanced mode (it will ask you the first time you launch it)

- In the Graphics Settings tab on the left, select Monitor Properties -> Adjustments

- Check Composite Sync in the right bottom corner of the panel.

Composite Sync is generally meant for older monitors, but it worked in my case, and there's been no noticeable performance or quality drop...

Also, it's always best if you have the actual monitor drivers installed, which are supplied by your manufacturer... Windows usually picks up your monitor as a Generic Plug n Play monitor, so you need to install those drivers separately, which you can get from your manufacturer's website.

Hope this helps!! :)

Cheers! :)

Just make sure you have installed correct monitors for display and monitor and it will detect the native resolution which is 60Hz for almost any popular LCD. Don't try to change it to 75, or else you could do harm to it.
