If anyone doesnot know what is MTU, its the maximum number of bytes that can be transmited in the form of a ethernet frame.
The more the merrier. But max allowed is 1500.
Thing is that I had not done any MTU setting on my lappy before yesterday .
My torrent download speed was very good about 1 week back but then suddenly it went down.
I called up the airtel guy and the tech support guy asked me to change the MTU size to 1464 [ default standard ].
After that my original speed was restored.
So please explain the relation between MTU and torrent traffic in particular.
Actually it should be for all traffic passing as ethernet frames . Is not it ?
So why torrent traffic should be affected ?
