Not sure if this should go in the photography thread or here, but since it's just gear I figured it fits better here.
KMZ manufactured Helios 44M-4 mounted on my Fuji X-T20 mounted on a Fotasy helicoid. Excited to try out a vintage lens!
You'll enjoy those swirly bokeh. I picked up a 44M-4, Industar 50mm and 44-2 is on its way.

Now I need to source M42 to EF-S mount for my old 1000D.

You can probably just 3d print one if you can't source one locally for reasonable price. As I already had a printer, that's what I did, printed the M42 to Sony E adapter for my A6000, though in my experience the swirls show better with full frame cameras(my a7iv).

The swirly bokeh is what I bought it for! With the helicoid adapter, I'm also hoping to do some macro photography (since it's essentially about a 90mm macro lens with the APS-C crop factor)

Yup the swirls are supposed to show up better for full frame cameras, but it's also a tradeoff for overall softer picture quality (since the full picture of the lens shows up haha). In any case, I can't afford a full frame camera so I'm gonna try to make the best of my existing equipment :)
On the topic of 3D printed adapters, while they will work fine, I wouldn't recommend using the same adapter for multiple lenses - screwing and unscrewing repeatedly may make the plastic flake and the dust could fall on the sensor.

Picked up a few vintage lens from a local seller for fun. Need to work on getting it cleaned. Currently mounting them on my 14yr old Canon 1000D with help of M42-EFS convertor.

Helios 44m-5 58mm. Unfortunately this one is quiet commonly found and not from KMZ plant. Optics are good, build quality isn't.

Industar 50-2 50mm, another fun little lens.

It's the T14 Gen 4 with the Ryzen 7840U, 32gb (soldered), 1tb, 14 inch 2880x1800 OLED, no OS etc. and net ₹ 1.3 lakh after a ₹10k cashback I'm expecting within 30 days. Also got ₹4k ADP to go along with the existing 3 year on-site warranty.

I would say you got a sweet deal considering OLED panel. How is the typing experience? Is it different from previous gen thinkpad?

HP Pavilion Plus was also released last week at around 90k with an OLED panel and 7840u for those looking for a cheaper option with a similar setup.

Building my own 45U open frame server rack! The frame will be made out of 4040 extrusion, this is actually my second rack. The first is all covered up in the background, since I (temporarily) ran out of budget for that project — that one is "work" related while this one is for personal use.

If you want to do something like this, keep in mind that these rails are actually slightly taller than 45U — the double rails are a few mm longer, and the regular rails are twice as much. Buy the rails first, measure them, then buy the extrusion. Maybe I'll make a build log out of this one.

These are from Penn Elcom on Amazon, the double rails will be in the front and the other two in the rear. I probably should've gotten double rails for all four corners since it was like just Rs 100 more per rail. I'm assuming the double rails help with rigidity when mounting equipment that don't extend all the way back and instead have extra mounting points on the sides behind the ears. Or maybe they're for 0U PDU's?

I've never even seen a server rack in person so this is all very exciting for me, I'm loving the high-quality matte black power coating on these — most rack owners probably don't say things like that, haha.

Nice. Some words of advice, pay attention to load bearing capacity, make sure to place it in a pace where you can access the rear if that is required, moving it can be a pain, depending upon the type of rack the screws/hardware can be difficult to find and finally try to think ahead about all the things you want to place in it, sometimes there are things that won't fit. Racks are very practical and to the industrially inclined, beautiful. Good luck with your project.

Purchased update.
