The dev team has not provided any unlock for latest firmwares the last one was loooong time back . All the devs are slowly sucked into Apple and i really doubt there would be any unlocks in future. JB itself is not moving at good pace take the example of iPad2.

Guys I bought an iPhone 4 last week, it's fully unlocked and with warranty, the problem is I didn't have a microsim, so the phone was lying unused for a few days, got my microsim today, was checking the phone and found out that earpiece is not working, I mean i'm not able to hear anything from it during calls, speaker phone is working and calls through headphones are also working, but earpiece doesn't work, has anyone faced this issue before??

I would advise you to check the baseband version on your phone by going to settings>general>about>modem firmware. I think you would be on 05.13.04, as you are on iOS 3.1.2. You can upgrade to iOS 4.2.1, but you would have to preserve your current baseband.

Let me know if you need more help :)

Thanks for that basic clearing information. Now, as i have checked, mine is Iphone 3G with baseband 5.11.07 and OS 3.1.2. What are the steps to update the OS now?

Step 1: Preserve the baseband using tinyumbrella?

Step 2: Restore the iphone using itunes

Step 3: Update the OS using itunes to 4.2.1?

Step 4: Jailbreak the phone using black1ra?

Step 5 : Done.

Correct me if any changes.

Now, i am a complete newbie in this, should i go ahead and do it?

Time to RMA as the issue is hardware based.

I have bought an IPhone 4 AT&T locked.... need to know which Gevey sim to buy and how much it costs? Is dialling 112 a problem in India? Is Gevey Ultra the best? In order to use Gevey Ultra do I have to jailbreak the phone. I see Gevey Supreme Pro Red for 300 Rs on Ebay and Ultra for 1000 bucks... is 300 Rs chip fake, will it spoil/overheat my phone. Can someone spell out what I need to buy and what I need to make my phone work :( Things like 3g etc? Will they work too?

Order from Ankit (iServiceIndia) from Bangalore. I have bought around 3-4 Gevey sims from him initially. All turned out just fine.

He had tweeted recently that he has some new stock wherein you don't have to dial 112 ever.

Talk to him and see what's your best bet. He's a nice guy. Number - 09844551425.

^ Please don't give out my number in public :)

It was me who called you... just a quick question. I buy Gevey Supreme as long as I am 4.3.3 and lower I should be fine with 1 time 112 procedure. Now what happens with 3G?

For e.g. I have read that you need to turn on data roaming, but can someone explain the folowing:

1) Will Reliance 3G or Vodafone 3G work with IPhone?

2) Apart from turning on data roaming what are the steps? How do I download the 3G settings? Do I manually set them up or just SMS the provider for the settings?

Please advise as I am ok with the unlocking part, just confused with the 3G part.

I would suggest that you should create a custom firmware using Sn0wbreeze so that your current baseband is preserved. Once you have that, then you can proceed with the steps that you mentioned here.. use the custom OS that you created, at the step 2. I think with the current version of Sn0wbreeze you can get a pre jailbroken OS.. so you can skip that step too.. PM me if you need more help..

You can buy Gevey Supreme no matter which version you are on. (<5 since for iOS 5 one will have to preserve baseband and update).

Yes 3G will work. You will have to keep data roaming on regardless of which Gevey you use. The APN settings will be provided by your network service provider.

Hope this helped.

Iphone 4S launching on October 21.

iPhone 4S launching on October 21 with BBM? - GSMArena.com news

According to a Greek website an iPhone will be announced in early October and released to the major markets around the world on October 21. The site claims this will be the iPhone 4S with the same size display, 8 MP camera with 1080p video recording, a dual-core 1GHz A5 processor inside and a second antenna on the top.

The rest of the specs are pretty much identical to the current iPhone 4. The site claims to have a "100% reliable source", but we wouldn't rush to bet our salaries on it if we were you.

We also received another tip, claiming that the next iPhone will feature BlackBerry's Messenger service. According to the tipster, BlackBerry will be getting a lot of cash in return for their messaging service. Once again there's no confirmation of any kind to those rumors, so it might all end up to be science fiction.

Now, we are not quite sure what to make of those rumors. The iPhone 4S seems likely as Al Gore himself says there will be more than one iPhone announced next month, JP Morgan confirms that, and AT&T has listed a white iPhone 4S. But what about the iMessage service that will come with iOS 5 - is Apple just going to put it side by side with BlackBerry Messenger?

The Apple iPhone event is, supposedly, coming on October 4th so we should find out the truth soon.
