A string of submarine cable disruptions in Egypt, has widely impacted internet traffic in India, Middle East and North Africa.

The subsea cables that were disrupted include South East Asia–Middle East–Western Europe 4 (SMW-4), India-Middle East-Western Europe (I-ME-WE) and Europe India Gateway (EIG) systems. The international consortium of operators in the region that manages the submarine cable system is in the process to restore services.
It is believed that most of the Indian users felt the impact on the download and buffer speed and would last for couple of days till the issue is restored.
