Graphic Cards Sli suggestion

hi guys i am having 1 9800gt and 1 8800gt i wanna sli between them as everyone knows both are same gpus only difference is in there name ....is there any prob come in doing sli ?????

Yes. You wont be able to use both in SLI.

Though both are G92s, the BIOS' differ. You would need to flash either one, to match to the secondary. Then you can SLI. ATI gives more leeway regarding this. So you cannot.

means there is also limitation that both gpus are of same model (9800-9800gt, 8800-8800gt) even both gpus are of same g92 die ....am i right ?

No, model can be different. An ASUS 8800GT can be SLI'ed to an MSI 8800GT.

^^bro i mean 9800gt 512mb can only sli with 9800gt 512mb....9800gt cant with 8800gt ....

like asingh has already said u need to flash the 8800GT bios with a 9800GT bios but this is risky.

If you want a confirmation, YES, the above combination cannot be SLI'ed. Is that not what I succinctly mentioned in post #4, primarily BIOS being the factor..?
