Linux Seagate FreeAgent Compatibility with Linux

I'm about to get a new external HDD for my computer. Seagate 1 TB external (FreeAgent). The dealer is offering me this for Rs. 3500 with 5 years warranty. But I've read that it is not supported under Linux. Can someone please confirm and tell me weather its true or not.. Here's the model number of the HDD..

Amarbir sent me the 750gigger way back. and it worked fine.

Will be detected a new drive. Thats it.

Plug it in and it would run.

Some HDD vendos ship some backup software and other things like manual along with the HDD.

In windows that gets mounted as a sepatare drive and autorun and you can install software from them, In linux that won't work.

I am not sure whether seagate ships any additional software on thier disk.

I am using a 1TB HDD with linux. so, there will be no issues with compatibility.

If it is not detected then install ntfs-3g and it should work.
