I assume you are not that pro for opening the laptop. Get its hdd removed and install it on somebody's desktop and then scan your disk with hdtune and hdsentinal tools and post the status here. Meanwhile you can carefully backup your data to another good disk.

Yeah it's a DIY job on most laptops. Search for the service manual on HP website by entering your model number in the support section, it shows the screws and location of the HDD. Just be delicate when removing , replacing , disconnecting/connecting the HDD with new SSD :)[DOUBLEPOST=1549369582][/DOUBLEPOST]If you are unsure you can take your laptop with the new SSD to a local laptop repair shop and ask them to replace it for you for a fee.

Hey! I simply run CC Cleaner, HP support & Avast AV. Did defragmentation & drive clean. That's all! ... Lappy run like Honda city fluidic !!...
Ahha... m lucky guy not to indulge in brutal HDD episode/expenses/etc etc ....... tnx buddy

Before closing thread, wish to take more insight on,

1) after boot AV run, in C drive, there's heavy log found, making C drive almost full ! [ refer attachment]
2) do I sign in/register to HP support assistance as using many crack version software:p
3) though trial Avast AV installed, I feel, I should have strong cleaner to remove AV & malwares & Boot stuffs. Frankly, better if its at no/nominal cost ..:joyful:
4) A silly curiosity from old techy guy : why my lappy shows only two drives : 1) Windows C:/ (1 TB ) and 2) Recovery drive. All works being saved in C: drive only. Need lesson here!, anything I have to do ?

holy hell 700GB file! Its created by CCcleaner - https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=3590F75ABA9E485486C100C1A9D4FF06ZZZ . Delete them
Recovery drive is created and used by windows. Ignore it..
your PC is probably filled with various malware, as you are not a techy guy (screenshot of screeenshot pasted in word .lol) and are using cracked stuff. Get Windows defender. Make sure windows update is on. avoid random software like cracks/keygens.

Thanks for the compliment :)
Antivirus.. Windows security essentials. Get from here : https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/14210/security-essentials-download . Scroll down to the table of links. Find language (english) click on right windows 64 bit or 32 bit.
Don't know if 64bit or 32bit ? Press on keyboard combination: win+Pause Key. Or google with laptop model OR look for stickers on laptop with info OR just google to find how OR simplest, just try both links. If 64bit works it's 64 !

If storage not prime factor, In 4k budget, should I go for higher storage internal drive or better to stick lower storage SSD?

Whichever SSD you are thinking of getting, do read online reviews before purchase, some larger storage SSDs in same budget are made of cheaper and slower hardware (like QLC NAND and DRAM-less) so be aware.
