Options for Internet Service Provider in Panchkula/Chandigarh

Dear All,
Which ISP to opt for in Panchkula/Chandigarh (haryana) region ? Pls elucidate on your prefered ISP.

Mostly, will use for downloading purposes so prefer an Unlimited connection.
Are there any local cable operators providing good internet services (decent speed aka atleast 2mbps) ?

I am using mtnl landline connection at present.

Personally, I am satisfied with Airtel and have been using their services from the past 3-4 years. Although a bit costly than what others offer, I never had any problems regarding speed throttling, torrents or CC services. I am using Turbo Plus 1649 30GB (4Mbps/512Kbps) COMBO Plan right now with free 1000 mins local calling every month in Panchkula.

Had opted for their 8 Mbps plan some time back but that wasn't stable. I felt that the present infrastructure they have in panchkula is not good enough for supporting such bandwidths.

Their technical support executives are knowledgeable though. Customer complaints are handled by Alcatel Lucent.

Haven't come across any. Hathway offers good services in Mohali but not sure about Panchkula.

Assuming you are talking about BSNL. They have the worst services in this region. Cost wise their plans are good but service, speed and the infrastructure in use is very bad.

I remember calling their CC once and gave my inputs on what needs to be fixed at their end to address my issue. Got a reply " Itna pata hai to khud hi kyu nahi sahi kar lete yahan aake " :p
 
I have checked other operators but most of them have 512kbps as the "after usage" speed. Even BSNL implements this cut off speed.
mtnl and other operators in mumbai region dont have this speed limit.

Also , there is no truly unlimited plan.
 
I have lived in PKL 11 sec for 2 years and my friends used t live in sec 10. Best plans are from reliance thunder plans only and if you don't have the feasibility then there's bsnl for you , stable slow speeds + reliable or airtel but expensive.
