Noob question: TF2 on Win 7 Home Premium Edition 64 bit

I'm thinking of buying a laptop with Win 7 Home Premium Edition 64 bit OS. I wanna install and play TF2 on it. Do steam and TF2 have 64 bit executables? Or can I simply take a TF2 backup from my Win XP 32 bit desktop and install it on the laptop?
 
I just took the backup from my old inspiron 640m (win 7 32 bit) and copied it to the new studio 1558 (win 7 64 bit). everything works fine.

Yup i did the same, copied from Win 7 32 bit (my desktop) onto my dad's laptop (64 bit) and everything works, works vice-versa too ^^
